wrap bracelet

DIY Wrap Bracelet

You’ll need (for a double wrapped bracelet) :

Fold the length of leather cording in half to form a loop. The loop should fit around the hex nut, which serves as the clasp. Run the tip of the waxed linen upwards along the leather cord and towards the loop. Then wrap around the base of the loop at least 5-6 times, working downwards in the opposite direction. This secures the waxed linen cord and is the start of the bracelet.

Place the ball chain along the leather cording with the end of the chain meeting the end of the wrap. Holding the ball chain against the leather cord, wrap the linen around tightly.

Continue wrapping while checking it for fit around the wrist.

When you have reached the end of the ball chain wrap the linen cording around the leather strands 2-3 more times. Tie a knot with all three strands.

Thread the hex nut through the strands and tie a second knot.

Trim with scissors and your wrap bracelet is finished!!

The materials are listed for a double wrap bracelet. For a single or triple wrapped bracelet, divide the measurements by 2 and multiply by accordingly. Experiment with crystal or other types of chain!

TIME TICKS DOWN

Time is ticking down and I am mere weeks from basic combat training, although I have hit a few bumps in the road with my recruiter and paperwork and this is why it has taken me so long to get there, but we are just waiting on my packet to get re-approved, which it will because all paperwork is in order, it was just a dating problem on the paperwork and then my recruiter sends me back to MEPS to perform my swearing-in ceremony and receive my ship date for basic training. Unfortunately even though I have already received my unit and captain’s name, it is a job that I did not want to do, I wanted to have the option to choose my own military career. But since my mother is experiencing financial woes, I have no choice but to become a quick-ship and take whatever career and unit is shipping rather quickly in the next few months, hence me taking the Water Treatment Specialist career, which is a part of 92 Whiskey, my unit. My captain is captain Ferlin. So fingers crossed and butterflies are running rampant.

HOW THE OTHER HALF OF AMERICA SURVIVES.

The harsh reality of the other half of america…The less fortunate homeless population.

Could you walk by this man and feel some sort of sadness for what he goes through?

Would you be able to deny him a few coins for a hot coffee or something to eat?

We never know if our contributions will be used for such things, but what if they were intended for that and we

denied him this simple gesture?

I could not and I have not, I have always contributed in the case that his intentions really are to keep warm and

keep from going hungry…you should too!

A new life

My new life is slowly beginning. I have enlisted in the united states army national guard, passed the asvabs, taken my physical, the whole nine yards. Today I go to make one of my two last appointments to return to the meps testing site. On the first visit, I will sign my enlistment papers and have my swearing in ceremony. The second, I will arrive there to be placed in the hotel and deploy to basic the next day. Today I see my recruiter and I am utterly nervous and excited at the same time. This is the start of my new life with my son. A better future, a better way of living. I have worked extremely hard to get to this point and I will continue to work hard when I arrive in basic training.
